I realize this is definitely a classic recipe, but didn't have it on my blog, sooo....
Fabulous, quick, and always-goes-fast are adjectives I would use for this
chewy, peanut butter-y, chocolate-butterscotchy treat!
One can never go wrong making...and sharing...these. Everyone will love you forever and you'll be asked to make...and share...them again and again!
Easy to remember the ingredients too...1 c. of everything except 6 c. rice krispies.
And you don't have to turn the oven on...perfect for summertime parties!
And they're not just for kids! Adults love them too.
Such an awesome treat when you need something fast! You just have to let the topping set up, but you can refrigerate it to speed up the process.
Enjoy every single bite!

SCOTCHEROOS
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. white sugar
1 c. (creamy or chunky) peanut butter
6 c. crispy rice cereal (or Special K cereal)
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. butterscotch chips
Grease 9" X 13" pan; set aside.
In large saucepan over medium heat, cook corn syrup and sugar together just until it comes to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter; stir until blended. Add cereal; stir until evenly coated.
Pour into prepared pan and pat into place. (I like to spray the back side of a metal spatula and then press down on the cereal to make it firm.)
In small saucepan over low heat (or on medium heat in microwave), melt chocolate and butterscotch chips; stirring until melted. Spread evenly over cereal. Cool at least 30 minutes or until firm. (May refrigerate to speed the process). Cut into bars and enjoy.
