Watermelon Lemonade {Sugar Free Option}

I always feel like I'm pampering myself when I order fruit flavored tea or lemonade when we eat out.

Oh my goodness - this is sooo simple! I never would have guessed it.

I made my recipe for Naturally Sweetened Lemonade (no sugar added) and added the fruit puree to it, but I am sharing the recipe, as is, that I found at Skip to My Lou. I love Cindy's recipes and craft ideas because I CAN DO THEM!!

This is an awesome way to use up that watermelon that's been sitting in the fridge for a few days!

I'm excited to think about trying raspberries or strawberries the next time I make this cooling drink.

WATERMELON LEMONADE

2 c. water
3/4 - 1 c. sugar
(or xylitol..or your fav sugar substitute)
1 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice (strained)
(about 6 - 8 lemons)
2 generous cups of cubed watermelon (seeds removed)
2 c. cold water or sparkling water
Ice

In a medium saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil.  Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool.  Meanwhile, puree watermelon in blender and strain to remove any seeds.  You should have about 1 c. watermelon juice.  Add lemon juice, watermelon puree to the simple syrup (sugar water); add water; chill.  Serve over ice.

YOUR FAMILY WILL LOVE YOU FOR MAKING THIS FOR THEM!!!
