Book Review: In the Shadow of Jezebel by Mesu Andrews

(I gasped to see I hadn't posted this a year ago when I should have...
just found it in my drafts...YIKES!)

I have loved, and devoured, each of Mesu's books. She has such an amazing talent for writing. I believe she's like an artist, who 'paints' with words, and brings to life many details I hadn't even considered in reading the Biblical accounts of stories like this. I truly appreciate her in-depth study of facts and that she builds each chapter on a passage of scripture. I came to appreciate Sheba, the granddaughter of Jezebel, a woman known to be very wicked. Imagining what Sheba lived through, and seeing how the power and grace of God affects her life, and mine...this is definitely a story you'll want to absorb. I'm very grateful that Mesu's books always drive me to the Word to check out the story for myself. She leaves me anxious to get my hands on her 'next one'.

(The covers of Mesu's books have such gorgeous models, don't you think??)

Released in March 2014

Book Review: The Pharoah's Daughter: Author - Mesu Andrews

(This is the 4th book I've enjoyed by this awesome author)
Such a stunning photo of the woman isn't it???

THE PHARAOH'S DAUGHTER

A TREASURE OF THE NILE NOVEL

From back cover:

"You will be called Anippe, daughter of the Nile. Do you like it?" Without waiting for a reply, she pulls me into her squishy, round tummy for a hug.
I'm trying not to cry.  Pharaoh's daughters don't cry.
When we make our way down the tiled hall, I try to stop at ummi Kiya's chamber.  I know her spirit has flown yet I long for one more moment. Amenia pushes me past so I keep walking and don't look back.
Like the waters of the Nile, I will flow.

This is an amazing story written by a mastermind, Mesu Andrews. She has such an amazing gift for making Biblical characters come alive! Mesu helps us to consider a different perspective from the Pharoah's Daughter herself, who drew baby Moses out of the water. VERY interesting how she adds twists and turns and exciting surprises.

I am in awe at how much research she does before writing her books of 'what could have been' and how she brings together such beautifully written ideas and stories. I love how each chapter begins with a scripture passage, and how she builds on each one. She's brilliant! Mesu's writings are so God-honoring. They make me want to dive into the Word of God to further my thinking. She uses such detail that my mind can easily picture what she's trying to convey.

A very strong theme in this book is "Fear is the most fertile ground for faith". It made me think of my own fears and how God wants to use them to grow my faith. I love how Mesu expresses God's willingness to woo us to Him, even when we're ashamed and muddling through the messes of life.

I truly appreciate the 'lineage outlines' at the front of her books and I often refer to them, as I read and get to know the characters. I highly recommend each of Mesu's books, and can't wait for more.

Book Review: Love Amid the Ashes: Author - Mesu Andrews

I couldn't be more excited for my special friend, Mesu Andrews!  Her first book is being officially released tomorrow, March 1st.

Isn't this cover fabulous!?  It feels so 'inviting' to me.
How blessed I am to call her Friend!  God crossed our paths about 8 years ago and we have grown to be sisters of the heart.

We've been honored to actually be together 3 times since then!  She lives on the other side of the country now, so we keep in touch via cyberspace.

She truly has a very special gift for writing and has such a unique talent with words. She's also a well known women's speaker.  What a gal she is!

I've begun reading my copy of Love Amid the Ashes - I am in awe at how the words and descriptions just flow for this gifted woman and friend!

Mesu is good friends with author/Women of Faith speaker Carol Kent!!  Carol wrote a review on the back cover and this is what she says...

"Mesu Andrews has skillfully brought the Old Testament story of Job to life in Love Amid the Ashes.  Throughout this book she explains Job's faithful adherence to studying the teachings of El Shaddai.  Then she creatively reveals how those principles are demonstrated by his interaction with Dinah.  You will be moved to tears as the characters reflect the mysterious role suffering plays in our faith.  If you enjoy a story that includes a powerful plot, romantic passion, and biblical truth, read this book!"

Check out her blog at http://www.mesuandrews.com/to read more details and purchase your own copy.  She's selling at several big-name websites.
And in bookstores across the country.

WOOOHOOOO!!!  I know God has great plans for Mesu and this is just the beginning!

Thanks for sharing in her joy..and in mine.
